In this game you will play as Bayek, one of the first assassins. He is an Egyptian sheriff and warrior who practices his own form of justice, just like most of the other protagonists in the series.
Assassin’s Creed origins is mapped is the entire country of Egypt which can be explored seamlessly without encountering a single loading screen. And has been described to be the size of Black Flag’s the Caribbean but on the ground. Players will be able to visit major cities such as Giza, Memphis, Alexandria as well as various smaller villages Kyrenaika and Nile delta.
Unlike previous Assassin Creed games origins will not have a mini map instead employing an Elder Scrolls like campus bar that points players in the direction of question objects of interest.
Players will now be able to dive into any sufficiently deep body of water to explore underground in search of loot. Since hostile animals such as crocodiles and hippos inhabit these waters an underwater combat system was also created.
In terms of transportation, the buyer can use feluccas to traverse the water and horses camels and chariots to travel the land. In addition, there is 22 look to explore some of these based on real-life locations while others are fictional.
The tombs contain traps and like puzzles but they are more about exploration and uncovering treasure. Origins feature a progression system where on completing certain actions on players experience. Levelling up not only makes buying strong growth but also grants ability points that can be used to unlock skills from the game’s ability.
There are three main branches there’s the master warrior which focuses on hand-to-hand combat, master hunter which focuses on ranged combat and stealth, and master sphere which focuses on tools for manipulating the environment.
In addition, skills are a full crafting system based on materials gathered through hunting which can be used to improve equipment such as a hidden blade. This is necessary when assassinating higher level enemy which won’t die from a single blow of the hidden blade if it hasn’t been sufficiently upgraded.
Combat has been overhauled to using a hitbox system we’re positioning along with the size and speed of a weapon determines whether you managed to land a hit or not.
There are over 150 weapons – ranging from common to legendary put their own effects like critical damage and bleed properties allowing you to do more damage.
Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin Creed origins doesn’t have a multiplayer mode. This is no surprise given that Black Flag was the last game to have competitive multiplayer. The company has said it will have online features but they haven’t evaporated what you can expect just yet.
Ubisoft said that the game would be a 4k 30fps on the ps4 and Xbox one X.It won’t utilize the Xbox one X’s additional memory. Both versions use dynamic resolution scaling to maintain frame rate stability so more intense scenes might see the 4k resolution drop below momentarily with the game running smoothly.
